Somos Group

Claire Courtney

Claire Courtney serves as Senior Strategist of Government Affairs at Somos Group, where she advises clients on complex political, labor, regulatory, and stakeholder environments across California.

She has worked across organizing floors, legislative offices, university classrooms and research hubs, and nonprofit boardrooms, and brings her full range of expertise to the table on behalf of her clients. Her work sits at the intersection of labor, politics, and community power, and she is skilled at moving across those worlds simultaneously.

At Somos, Claire advises clients across the technology, healthcare, infrastructure, labor, and arts and culture sectors on government affairs strategy, stakeholder engagement, community relations, coalition building, and policy research, helping them navigate California’s most complex political environments. She is particularly skilled at translating complex regulatory and political environments into actionable, adaptable client strategies and building relationships across sectors.

Claire has led organizing campaigns for hundreds of workers, coordinated directly with state and local elected officials, planned high-profile public events at the Governor’s Office level, and produced policy and advocacy materials for clients across an array of sectors.

Claire holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
