Los Angeles Office

Albizael Del Valle serves as the Director of Government Affairs at Somos Group, where he advises clients on government relations, public policy, economic development, and stakeholder strategy across the Los Angeles region and throughout California.

Prior to joining Somos Group, Albizael spent more than a decade with the City of Los Angeles, working at the intersection of public policy, economic development, infrastructure, and community organizing. Most recently, he served as legislative director in the Office of the President of the Los Angeles City Council, helping advance major City Council initiatives and leading the Council’s work on the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the FY 2026–27 City Budget.

Previously, as Capital Projects Director, Albizael developed extensive experience moving complex projects from concept to implementation. He worked with stakeholders to identify potential projects, garner support, secure public grants, and implement them in coordination with the relevant departments. 

His work included projects such as Destination Crenshaw, the Broadway Sur Infrastructure project, and the creation of the Jobs and Economic Development Zone on Crenshaw Boulevard. He also led Council District 8’s campaign to streamline the delivery of more than 1,500 units of permanent supportive housing.

At Somos Group, Albizael draws on his experience in City government to help clients understand how public institutions make decisions, navigate complex approval processes, and build the relationships necessary to move projects forward. His work on the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games committee also gives him a strong understanding of how businesses, institutions, and communities can prepare for the opportunities leading up to the Games.
