Ramneek serves as Principal and Chief Strategy Officer at Somos Group, bringing extensive expertise in government and public affairs, community development, and labor relations. As a pivotal leader, she plays a central role in shaping the firm’s strategic vision and direction.

For more than a decade, Ramneek has achieved legislative victories for labor unions, community organizations, and businesses of all types. Her long-standing relationships with key stakeholders and an ability to navigate complex issues involving the community, political officials and labor leaders have proven to be invaluable tools for client success.

Ramneek was born in India and immigrated to the United States as a teenager just before the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center at a time when anti-immigrant fervor was on the rise. Her experiences as an immigrant and person of color shaped her early years in this Country. She learned the struggles faced by working people—and especially first-generation immigrants like her parents—first-hand. Throughout her life, her work has been inspired by those experiences and struggles.

Despite these challenges, Ramneek excelled in school, joining the Speech and Debate team as a freshman and ultimately winning the California Speech and Debate Championship. These early experiences instilled in her a strong work ethic and a belief in overcoming the limitations others may impose. They also ignited her passion for improving the lives of families like her own—those whose livelihoods and educational opportunities are often restricted by systemic barriers rooted in discrimination based on race, gender, and nationality.
