Associate Planner I

Eric McAnally II is a Planning Associate for Somos Group, a group of multidisciplinary professionals dedicated to partnering with public- and private-sector clients to build and sustain community resilience, promote economic development, increase social equity, and accelerate prosperity.
Eric’s primary areas of expertise include zoning and land use analysis, strategic permit and entitlement pathways, and governmental affairs for commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, cultural, and institutional projects. With experience in the private, public, and non-profit sector, he brings a holistic and dynamic approach to urban development, helping cities, non-profits, and private developers understand real estate, local government, and political climates to propel sustainable growth, equitable development, and resilient communities.
Eric received his Master’s in Urban Planning (M.P.L).from USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy, specializing in sustainable land use and urban design. He has led a team in the 2019 Hines Student Competition, has been featured in Mint Mag Issue #4 for spatial equity, and has won second place in APA’s 2019 Urban Design Placemaking Writing Competition.
